Little Rosa was created by Laura Mudie in 2015 following the birth of her first child, Sienna Rose, or Little Rosa to the family. Little Rosa wasn’t a good sleeper during the day and Laura would often find herself resorting to taking her out in the buggy for a nap, which led to Laura needing to use a breathable muslin blanket to protect her from the elements and minimise distractions. But trying to keep the blanket in place proved to be a challenge, a challenge met by Laura’s invention, Pram Pegs. Pram Pegs were created to eliminate the risk of babies overheating when parents use pram covers, and they have proved to be an extremely versatile accessory for any parent, fitting any part of any pram or buggy tested so far.
Laura entered her invention into a competition run by Tom in partnership with nationwide mother and baby retailer JoJo Maman Bébé, offering the opportunity of new nursery products the chance to reach a wider market. Winning the competition has allowed Pram Pegs to be stocked by all 65 JoJo Maman Bébé stores on the UK high street.
Laura has big plans for Little Rosa and is hoping to use the Essex BIG Business Boost to help the business find a partnership with a distributor to get their fantastic product into a wider range of the UK’s biggest stores. She also aspires to create a beautiful brand and has already developed new products to add to the Little Rosa range, including a nesting doll and teether, which she is desperate to take to market.
